UPPCL AE (Assistant Engineer) Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must fulfill the various eligibility requirements outlined in the recruitment notification to apply for the exam. Please see the following details related to age and education requirements:

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age – 21 years
  • Maximum Age – 40 years
  • Candidates of the SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL categories of Uttar Pradesh will be given five-year age relaxation in the upper age limit.

Educational Qualification

The candidates must fulfill the given criteria: 

  • Should be able to communicate effectively in Hindi.
  • Must possess a Civil Engineering degree from a university lawfully established in Uttar Pradesh, or from any other institution approved by the State Government, or diploma, degree, or certificate recognized as equivalent by the State Government 


  • Be an associate member of the Institution of Engineers (India) by completing Sections ‘A’ & ‘B.’

UPPCL Assistant Engineer Selection Process

The Assistant Engineer (AE) position requires candidates to go through a two-stage selection process. During the first stage, objective-type questions of one mark are included in the written examination. Those who qualify for the computer-based test will be invited to the interview round. Accordingly, UPPCL AE selection procedures are as follows:

  • Computer Based-Test (written examination)
  • Personal Interview

UPPCL Junior Engineer Exam is conducted to recruit Civil and Electrical engineering candidates to fill junior engineering positions. Exams are conducted in online mode. UPPCL JE Eligibility Criteria – Essential Qualification

  • An in-depth understanding of Hindi (Devnagri Script) is essential. 
  • Candidates who did not study Hindi at the high school or equivalent level must appear and clear an assessment administered by the Registrar of Department Examination of the Government of UP within three years of joining.
  • Candidates must possess a 3-year diploma in Electrical Engineering from Pravidhik Shiksha Parishad, UP or a diploma, equivalent to it, recognized by the state government.

UPPCL JE Eligibility Criteria – Age

Candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 40.
